Open Animal House
JAC holds an Open Animal House at regular intervals, from 12pm to 5pm at the JAC shelter. The calendar on our homepage always shows the next planned open house. For our current adoption fees, please visit the Contact Us page. To volunteer, please call Lila at (973) 377-3447.

Annual Dogwalkathon and Fair
Our Dog Walkathon and Fair is fun for all two-and four-legged creatures! There are games, prizes, contests, entertainment, food, and crafts plus guest celebrities. Pet Socializing
Have you ever wanted to form a relationship with a dog or cat? If so, why not consider socializing our pets? Our dogs need daily walks, and our cats would enjoy some TLC! To volunteer, please call or visit the shelter during regular business hours. 

Fundraising and Community Events
Each year JAC holds various fundraising events, such as our Charity Basket Raffle, dinners at nearby restaurants, and our annual Gala. Check out a photo montage and Star-Ledger article. Sometimes we simply bring pets to sit with us at a fundraising table outside local stores.

We're also an integral part of the community, holding an annual July 4th Petfair outside the Maplewood Memorial Library.
