Missy

She has been residing at the shelter for over a year. She is one of the favorites of many volunteers.

Personality
This is Missy! Don’t be fooled by the white around Missy’s eyes and muzzle! This is not a sign of her age. We believe it’s just a part of her natural markings, as she also has some white on her chest and at the bottoms of her feet. Besides, Missy has much too much zest and vigor for a senior dog. In fact, Missy would actually be an ideal companion for an active family that loves to walk and/or run with their dog. This is one of Missy’s favorite things to do: go on nice long walks with her companion. But, Missy’s not picky.

Missy is a loving, adorable, trustworthy girl. Her breeding is a quite a mystery. In fact, we all seem to have different theories as to her parentage. She has been residing at the shelter for over a year. This is no place for her. She deserves more stability and attention. But, she does have quite a fan club here. She is one of the favorites of many volunteers.

Missy has spent a few nights at 2 of the volunteers’ homes when she was recovering from a surgery. These volunteers would be more than happy to answer any questions you have regarding Missy. We will also be there as a support system, if any questions come up as she makes her transition into being someone’s loving pet again. She will need a little extra love and patience, just as most shelter animals do when they leave the stress of shelter life behind.

Other Adults, Children, and Dogs
Missy absolutely loves all people. She loves men, women, and also children. We can see Missy as being a wonderful best friend for a child. She has the goofy sensibility of a child herself.

Missy would prefer to be the only pet in a household. She is not “aggressive;” however, she does snap if another dog comes too close. We believe this is motivated by anxiety. She probably wouldn’t do well with cats either, as she seems to like to chase them.

Training
Missy is completely house trained. She does not jump up. She doesn’t mouth. She really is just a lovely special girl.
